Discover Poland
ISC Zabinki will take you to one of the most beautiful places in the North-East of Poland – Masuria (Polish: Mazury).
Many can say it’s just a green area famous for its 1000 lakes, forests and holiday atmosphere.
Indeed, you should expect many crazy and exciting boat trips, wild canoe trials, some of relaxing time on the sandy beach, thrilling races in the forest, all this to discover beauty of the polish nature.
But don’t be mislead with this generality as Masuria is a region of the complex history of Prussia, Germany and Poland what marks its presence in the everyday life of Zabinki. You don’t have to be keen on history to appreciate the fact that two buildings that serve as accommodation for the participants are former bunkers. Before the war, Zabinki was a training centre for the Luftwaffe, during the war, allegedly, Himmler’s residence. The access to the sports ground is provided by the so-called Prussian stairs, which were constructed over a century ago. Doesn’t that sound good enough to come and discover this part of Poland yourself?
You will probably finish your journey in Warsaw, the city where the Zabinki Organizers' headquarters are located. As Warsaw is the capital of Poland it offers you many tourist attractions related to its rich history, many cultural events, interesting mixture of architecture styles and life bustling till late at night. You can’t miss the opportunity to visit this charming city before or after the camp!
